How to Submit a Site
Step-by-step guide to submitting a new campsite, including what info to include and what to keep private.
Before You Submit
Only submit sites you have personally visited. Do not submit publicly known or overcrowded spots. The goal is to share hidden gems responsibly — not to accelerate their degradation.
**Important:** Never include exact GPS coordinates, trailhead names, road numbers, or any identifying information in the site **name** or **short description**. These go in the **long description** and are gated behind credits.
The Submission Form
1. Click **Submit** in the top navigation.
2. Fill in the site **name** — keep it descriptive but discreet (e.g. 'Quiet lake spot near Mattawa').
3. Select the **province** and enter the **region** and **nearest town**.
4. Choose the **access type** (drive-in, off-road, paddle-in, hike-in).
5. Set **quietness** and **privacy** scores.
6. Fill in the **short description** — this is visible to all logged-in users.
7. Fill in the **long description** — detailed access info, directions, GPS notes go here (credit-gated).
8. Mark **amenities** (fire pit, water, dog-friendly, etc.).
9. Upload a photo if you have one.
10. Submit — a moderator will review and approve it.
What Happens Next
After submission, your site enters a review queue. A moderator checks for:
- Duplicate entries (an automatic near-duplicate check runs against published sites within 10 km)
- Accurate location and access info
- Appropriate level of discretion (no exact GPS in public fields)
- Quality of description
Once approved, you'll earn **up to 3 credits** (base + completeness + photo bonuses), the site appears in the listing and on the map — and if you're the **first to submit a site in that region**, you'll also earn the **Trailblazer** badge (+1 credit). An approved submission also **raises your trust score** — every contribution builds your standing in the community.
