How to Review & Provide Condition Updates
Leave ratings, share recent conditions, and help the community with stewardship updates.
Writing a Review
Visit a site detail page and scroll to the **Reviews** section. You can:
- Rate the site from 1–5 stars
- Leave a comment about your experience
- Mark your review as a **condition update** if you've visited recently
Each review builds your credibility and counts toward your **contribution level** (3 reviews = Contributor, 10 = Active Contributor, 25 = Top Contributor) and its badge. Reviews help other members decide if a site is worth visiting and what conditions to expect.
Reviews are moderated before being published — a short approval keeps the community signal clean. Once your review or condition update is approved, it also **raises your trust score**. Your reviews are shown with only your **first name** and your highest badge — your identity stays private.
Condition Updates
A **condition update** tells the community about the current state of a site. Examples:
- 'Road was washed out after spring melt — 4×4 required'
- 'Fire ban in effect, no campfires allowed'
- 'New logging activity nearby, less quiet than before'
- 'Site was clean and well-maintained'
Condition updates are highlighted differently from regular reviews so members can quickly spot recent intel. They're the most valuable contribution you can make.
Review Guidelines
- Be honest and accurate
- Don't reveal specific coordinates or private access routes in comments
- Focus on the camping experience — not personal grievances
- Update your review if conditions change significantly
- One review per site visit — multiple updates to the same review are fine
